Opponent Scouting: Cleveland Caveliers. 40 -14. Quick version.
Going to be rapid fire here because I have to go work on the train and it's super nice outside.
Tonight at 7 the Pistons will be in Cleveland, both teams are on the second night of a back to back. Pistons lost to Anthony Davis, Cavs beat the Thunder.
The Them: LeBron is still awesome, Kyrie is starting to really look like he's getting into form, Kevin Love has just generally looked better since Lue took over. Tristan Thompson and JR Smith are the other starters, TT rebounds, JR shoots. Delly is still a killer backup point guard who is a pesky defender and has come a long way as a passer, a lot has been made of Mozgov and his fall off but he is still a real solid dude off the bench. Iman Shumpert still can do the 3 and D thing really effectively. Richard Jefferson is still, somehow, a fairly effective player to buy LeBron some rest. And that is the regular rotation for the most part. Their pace has not gone up a ton but they are looking to run more, and generally have actually looked better since Lue took over.
Matchups to watch:
Pistons vs. Defending LeBron: Obvious one here. Plz not 50+ points.
Andre vs. TT: Both are awesome rebounders, and TT does not have nearly as many other responsibilities. Should be fun to watch them battle down low.
Reggie vs. Kyrie: Two really good PGs who like to score. Pretty straight forward there.
Pistons vs. Lack of depth: The front line rotation is Andre, Baynes, Morris, Harris. And both Morris and Harris are really SFs. Tolly did not go to Cleveland so they will be short on guys. On the other hand, we will probably get to see Tobias start, and see a lot of the Harris/Morris combo and the Harris/Johnson combo.
Bench vs. Not sucking: Steve Blake sucks. And with Harris entering the starting lineup the bench will have to find something to prop itself up. Obviously Harris and Morris will play with the bench a lot still, but they gotta find something.
Cackle with knowing glee:
Andre is eating up the Cavs inside.
Marcus Morris is freaking roasting Kevin Love in isolation.
Run for the Hills:
LeBron goes for 50.
Kyrie goes for 50.
Kevin Love goes for 50.
Andre dominates again.
Morris/Tobias both are awesome.
Pistons are pissed and come out firing and slaughter the Cavs.
Should be a fun game, always is when LeBron is on the court.
What do you think?
