Opponent Scouting: Brooklyn Nets. (35-33) (rapid fire)
We are going rapid fire on this preview because I’m short on time. Game is at 7:30 in Brooklyn.
The Nets are a solid team that is very well coached. They play fast and hard. They are led by their pair of point guards D’Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie. Russell starts and Dinwiddie comes off the bench but don’t worry about that. Russell is a good shooter and passer but not much of a defender or threat inside, Dinwiddie gets inside a ton and draws lots of fouls. Joe Harris is a really good shooter, Caris LeVert hasn’t looked great since coming back from injury, Jarrett Allen can jump very high. Allen Crabbe is a good shooter and so is this Kurocs guy. Ed Davis is good but not as good as Andre Drummond.
Nets vs. Blake: The Nets really do not have any good options for guarding Blake. Literally. Should be a field day for him.
Pistons vs. Russell: Russell is the sort of guy who can get hot shooting the ball and turn a game around in a hurry and he’s big enough to shoot over Bruce Brown.
Andre Drummond vs. Asserting himself still: He’s been awesome lately. Must continue. Allen can jump with him but isn’t big enough to hold him.
Pistons vs. Doing this thing: This is a huge game to hold onto the 6th seed. Do it.
Bruce puts the clamps on Dlo again.
Spencer revenge. Again.
Joe Harris gets loose.
The Pistons lose.
